John Nelson Abrams, a retired four-star Army general, helped build the modern military. He was one of the primary architects of the “Army of the 21st Century,” which used new technology and the information age to equip the Army for the future. During his service, he led units in combat during Vietnam, commanded a regiment during the fall of the Iron Curtain and commanded a joint task force after Desert Shield and Storm. His awards include the Purple Heart Medal. After retiring, he became a military analyst for The Associated Press. He also is president and CEO of Abrams Learning & Information Systems Inc.
