Hiroko Nakamoto is an international designer whose works are influenced by her native Japan. After receiving her bachelor’s in fine arts from BGSU, she studied interior design at Pratt Institute in New York. After studying interior design in England, France, Italy, Germany, Lebanon and Iran, she was appointed to become an adviser to Takahimaya Ltd. in Tokyo. She is considered a pioneer for the interior design field in Japan. She was the first international student to receive a Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1973.
